Ahahahaha omg this is the most twistedly awesome thing! The music choice is just brilliant and the editing and musicality are so fantastic. Bravo, Festividder!

ETA: Okay, I just have to edit this to say every time I rewatch this (which is fairly often, ngl) I get new levels of appreciation for it. The use of all the sexual imagery and rape metaphors in these films and how it makes this into a narrative of Ripley as a survivor, and just... god, the symbolism of her pulling out the alien's mouth appendage thing at the end -- especially after the earlier use of it protuding as she's cornered -- is so fucking awesome and then those final shots of her, showing how it all still haunts her and and gah I can't even with how brilliant this is.

OMG, you are the best Festividder!!

Even before watching this, I knew I was going to love it -- the song choice and the fandom were enough, and given what I asked for I knew you'd taken me at my word and given me ALL THE THINGS. Of course, then I couldn't play the vid, and had to reboot by computer (twice) and router, and change browsers. It was like it was teasing me. But then at last, it played.

And my god, it's everything I wanted and more. Unusual and experimental, ironic, kick-ass, and most of all, Ripley. So fucking good. I can tell this must have taken some serious vidding, and I appreciate the hell out of it. Thank you so much. This is going to be a re-watching favourite. <3

WHAT DID I JUST WATCH.

Holy crap, Festividder, that was amazing and awesome. The song, the cuts, the bouncy kinetic-ness of it all, Ripley being a badass, just everything. So much love for this vid. Wow.

THIS IS BRILLIANT! THIS IS THE ALIEN FRANCHISE VID I HAVE ALWAYS NEEDED IN MY LIFE. YOU ARE SO AWESOME, FESTIVIDDER. The cutting in this vid is SO GREAT, ugh I especially love the clip that moves from the facehuggers to Ripley's fingers, that juxtaposition REALLY strikes me. So many really wonderful moments in this. ALSO, the clip of Ripley bouncing the basketball into the dude's junk is PRICELESS. I'm going to watch this vid about a million times, ugh, AMAZING.

What I would like to do right now is leave you a several paragraph comment detailing all the reasons why this is one of the most amazing things to ever happen in my life. Instead I am reduced to flailing without adequate words and can only go with O. M. G.

What. You. That.

I have no idea what I just watched, I've never seen any of the Aliens movies, but this was amazing. My favorite sequence was the part around two minutes in with "stop", and I loved all the shot of feet (I dunno why, just every time there was one it felt very creative and interesting).

Gah. Just.... I don't even understand how you made this vid. How you made the multitude of choices, the structuring, the clip layouts, the movements and speed effects... this is such a work of genius I feel like it must have just.... become.

Which is probably testament to the hours and hours of work and planning that went into it.

I cannot even begin to express how amazing this is. *hugs it tight*

Well, obviously, I'm incredibly impressed with your editing overall, but what I especially noticed here was the visual matching in a lot of your fast transitions, especially between faces, and the way the musicality made it clear why only this mashup could work for this vid, and neither Stayin' Alive nor Get Low alone was sufficient.

Also! Basket!

OMG! I can't even! *hands* That was amazing! The cutting is sooooo tight here, just fantastic. Great choice of clips, flowing together so well and creating such a coherence across the entire quadrology. And then there are details like the facehugger TAPPING THE RHYTHM OF THE SYNTH DRUMS! and the alien "singing" - and clips that makes moves into a dance. Wow… Totally floored here. The juxtaposition of the mood of song vs. movies really works for it as well, excellent choices!

(Now I want to watch all the Alien movies again.)

I'm an enthusiastic viewer not especially versed in the making of vids, and there's a point for me when I look at a vid and think, "magic," without exactly being able to tell you why (beyond the general). So, the general: the vid is long and yet totally sustains my interest; there's these wonderful snappy, snappy cuts and a unexpected blend of music and footage that works together so well. I love it, and I love that someone's brain knew it could work, because I seriously wouldn't have thought it would.
