Lyrics
I've got this feeling that there's something that I missed, don't you breathe
(I could do most anything to you)
Something happened that I never understood, you can't leave
Every second, dripping off my fingertips, wage your war
Another soldier says he's not afraid to die, well I am scared
In slow motion, the blast is beautiful, doors slam shut
A clock is ticking but it's hidden far away, safe and sound
petra: Barbara Gordon smiling knowingly (Rodrigo Borgia - Skeptical)

The flashes from character to character-later, the crown motif, and the spinning coin tie this together wonderfully. This makes my heart hurt in the best ways; they're all so gorgeous, ambitious, and doomed, and you underscore those qualities well.

Oh oh, this is gorgeous. It's just so well edited.

(And - wait, I missed a movie with Jeremy Irons and Tom Hiddleston and Patrick Stewart and John Hurt?! Where Jeremy Irons slaps Tom Hiddleston? And it's got Prince Hal? WHERE WAS I.)
stultiloquentia: Campbells condensed primordial soup (Default)

Oh, wow, this is just exquisite. I think it would be even if I hadn't seen any of the source; your editing is just so inspired and perfect. I have chills.

Oh, very cool, and very powerful.

I've only seen the first of these productions: I clearly need to watch the rest!
baronjanus: I was searching for the answer, it turns out it's rock and roll. Hugh Dillon Works Well With Others (fenrir black wolf)

Absolutely beautiful.
likeadeuce: Michelle Dockery in a tiger hat (downton)

Wow, what a great job of tying all the productions together. I love the ongoing theme of looking backwards to past events (which certainly fits the canon), how nothing is strictly sequential but all layered together.

This is really awesome! You've really distilled the best of this production. I love the editing and the pacing and the relationship between the different plays with the intercutting. Nice work.

I've never seen this source before, but damn your vid is beautiful. I love the choice of music, the pacing, the motion. Masterful.

Oh wow. I'm pretty much speechless at the moment. I'm finding it difficult to write coherent thoughts!

This vid was perfection. It gave me chills and then choked me up. I could only do my happy dance once I had recovered FROM ALL THE EMOTION. Heh.

I loved that you decided to use the 'deaths of kings' as a unifier for the films - it was very effective. Each film had a very different style, but you managed to combine source in such a way that, if you hadn't seen the films, you really wouldn't have been able to tell which clip came from which film. So brilliant.

Thank you so so much, best gift ever!

Absolutely gorgeous character piece; I especially liked the section where Hal turns away from Falstaff, and the overlay of the spinning coin.

Alasjkashf;as;jlj; that was awesome. I've watched it three times and I haven't even seen the source films yet (YET). The editing is fabulous, and the recurring motifs of the coin and the crown tie the whole thing together so well. It's so layered and complex and the ideas come through so clearly even to someone unfamiliar with these particular plays. Omg I'm such a sucker for beautifully done Shakespeare....

This is brilliant - you've done such a great job of bringing the films together and showing the theme running through all of them.

Every time I watch the vid I see new things - I think I'll be rewatching for a while.

Terrific work. Great build, wonderful use of external motion to accelerate the story and create tension. I really like the reliance on symbols throughout, too. Very beautiful.

This was wonderfully powerful, and had such scope, from the goofy times to the duels to the wars and everything else, amazing.

This blew me away.

I particularly liked the zoom/spin thing and then transition from his dead face to his living one at 0:44 and what you did with the changes in the music at 1:56 and 2:49
