I'm not familiar with the source at all, but this looks sweepingly epic. Very nice.
skygiants: Himari, from Mawaru Penguin Drum, with stars in her hair and a faintly startled expression (gonna be a star)

The thing is that I'm angry that this vid makes me have emotions about Penguindrum.
thirdblindmouse: The captain, wearing an upturned pitcher on his head, gazes critically into the mirror. (Default)

I haven't seen much of the source, so I don't actually know what's going on, but this is gorgeous. Very strange imagery, very compellingly used. Favorite parts: the fans spinning on guitar trills, the surreal floaty sinking sequence that begins at 0:23 and completes at 0:44 the helicopters as metaphor(?) for the silver storm of a brain tumor, with the propeller blade/fan blade transition, the motion of 1:44 to 1:45, the way the environment goes bizarre at 1:59 and the motion and strangeness flow continually from there. The revived heart beat with the return of the guitar trills is perfect.

I don't know this show at all, but this is a lovely vid. It's so lovingly edited - I really love the way you've matched the clips so well to the changing texture of the music.

I really like this! I have no idea what's going on, but I really like it anyway! It's evocative.

Yet another person who has no idea what's going on, but this is lovely, sweeping, and heartfelt. And I really liked your repeated use of certain motifs -- the fan in particular, but there were others -- which provided a solid anchor in a very, very strange world.
revolutionaryjo: A girl waving in silhouette. (Default)

I enjoy how many people have already commented that they have no idea what is going on because they haven't seen Penguindrum. As if those of us who have seen all of Penguindrum (multiple times) are any better off, ha.

But yes! Sibling feelings! A melancholy and gorgeous vid to match the show. Beautifully done.

this is really magical, beautiful and I find the song choice really took me on the journey with the characters' emotions. just, beautiful.

I have no idea about the source or what is going on, but this is strangely beautiful.
