Lyrics
You wait for a silence

I wait for a word

Lying next to your frame

Girl unobserved

You change your position

And you're changing me

Casting these shadows

Where they shouldn't be

We're interrupted

By the heat of the sun

Trying to prevent

What's already begun

Oh, you're just a body

I can smell your skin

And when we feel it

You're wearing thin

Oh, but I've got a plan

And why don't you be the artist?

And make me out of clay?

Why don't you be the writer?

And decide the words I say?

'Cause I'd rather pretend

I'll still be there at the end

Only it's too hard to ask

Won't you try to help me?

Sat on your sofa

It's all broken springs

This isn't the place for

Those violin strings

Oh, I try out a smile

And I aim it at you

Oh, you must have missed it

You always do

Oh, but I've got a plan

And why don't you be the artist?

And make me out of clay?

Oh, why don't you be the writer?

And decide the words I say?

‘Cause I'd rather pretend

I'll still be there at the end

Only it’s too hard to ask

Won't you try to help me?

You wait

I wait

Casting shadows

Interrupted

You wait

I wait

Casting shadows

Interrupted

You wait

I wait

Casting shadows

Interrupted

You wait

I wait

Casting shadows

Why don't you be the artist?

And make me out of clay?

Why don't you be the writer?

And decide the words I say?

'Cause I'd rather pretend

I'll still be there at the end

Only it’s too hard to ask

Won't you try to help me?

Why don’t you be the artist?

And make me out of clay?

Why don’t you be the writer?

And decide the words to say?

‘Cause I’d rather pretend

I’ll still be there at the end

Only it’s too hard to ask

Won't you try to help me?

eeeeeeee! Wonderful festividder, you have taken exactly what was nebulously in my head for this fandom and song choice and realised it more perfectly than I could have imagined! What a lovely vid full of lovely faces, and the storybook top and tailing is just perfection. <33333

Oh god, that was so perfect and beautiful! I am SO gutted this wasn't the actual film!! I mean, granted, in my head now it was. Your timing/cuts are amazing, the song choice is GORGEOUS, and I loved the narration/story on the screen. <3 <3 <3 <3

D'aww! I love all the femme fatale-y slinking. I have no idea what this source is, but the vid is intriguing.

:-) Thank you! Er, I feel like this ought to have come with the warning that TRAGICALLY the femslash in the film is entirely subtextual - the main plot of the film involves a couple of rather douchy guys, who take up an annoying amount of screen time which should have been devoted to Jane and Darcy.

Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. I'm slightly concerned I may have misled one or two people into watching a really not very good film....I mean obviously Karen Gillan is amazing in it, but tragically she spends waaaaay too much time interacting with the two annoying dudes and not nearly enough with Darcy. Alas. SO I'm glad you like this version of the film! :-)

Thank you! I can't claim responsibility for the song choice, as that was all such_heights. But it was really fun to vid!

:-D HI CLEO. Thank you! I'm very glad this made you happy! And, yes, it's a terrible tragedy of our time that this is not actually representative of the film. Alas and woe.

No worries at all! The fix-it and the transformative edit both have long and distinguished histories, and I am a big fan of both. I like edits that create a vid that I like better than I (would have) liked the source: this way, there are more things in the world for me to enjoy!
