Oh, this is so lovely! I love the framing of it, how it starts with Mary alone and excluded in the darkness of the train station and ends in her being embraced and included in her family on the moors--it makes her character arc clear and touching. I really like the bit at around 0:39 where Mary pulls aside the tapestry and it switches over to Martha--I love Martha in this, and how clear it is that Martha’s affection is such a important thing and such a huge starting point for Mary. And the garden! You make such good use of all the beautiful shots of the garden coming alive that the movie provides, and I love how that’s intertwined with Mary’s growing relationship with Dickon, and how you show the empty swing and then return to it later when Mary and Colin and Dickon are happy and having fun. This was really such a treat, and just what I was looking for from this movie. Thank you so much!
