Lyrics When they finally come to destroy the earth
They'd have to go through you first
I bet they won't be expecting that
When they finally come to destroy the earth
They'll have to deal with you first and now
My money says they won't know about

The thousand Fahrenheit hot metal lights behind your eyes

Invincible
You're invincible
Invincible
You're invincible
That's crushing, crashing, atom smashing, white hot thing
Invincible

When they finally come what'll you do to them?
Gonna decimate them like you did to me?
Will you leave them stunned and stuttering?
When they finally come how will you handle them?
Will you devastate them deliberately?
Cause I'm gonna guess they won't be prepared for

Thousand Fahrenheit hot metal lights behind your eyes

Invincible
You're invincible
Invincible
You're invincible
That crushing, crashing, atom smashing, white hot thing
You're invincible
Invincible

So please
Use your powers for good
Please use your powers for good

You're invincible
Invincible
You're invincible
Invincible
You're invincible
That crushing, crashing, atom smashing, white hot thing
Invincible

Oh, my dear vidder, someday I want to learn to make vids like this. This is so freaking lush, such beautiful visuals that you cut long and longer so that we can wallow in them, feel them, but they never drag or feel static or like you were killing time until the end of lyric. (I've been working these last couple of years on learning to cut shorter and faster and denser, to pack meaning tighter, but you make a compelling argument for learning to properly wield the long cut and long sequence.) There's something so freaking satisfying in watching a vid and going, "ohhhhhh...! It can be like this, too!"

ANYWAY.

"When they finally come to destroy the Earth," where "they" are aliens, drug lords, and police I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE VIDDER AND I APPROVE. The plea that Moses use his powers for good as he claws his way back from the precipice, the Union Jack above him? And the way you juxtaposed the wall of aliens with the wall of riot police at 2:35? CHILLS, baby, CHILLS. Today Moses and his squad saved the earth from aliens; tomorrow they'll save it from the police state.

First pass through, I was agog at your boldness in matching "invincible" to Moses and his squad, when the film has so much carnage, the boys dying and dying and dying... But it's about how these kids are the bravest in the room, and their utter determination not only to survive, but to win the day, aliens today and police state tomorrow-- You've managed to completely reframe the ending of that film for me, thank you.

And of course I laugh forever at fireworks which are literally thousand Fahrenheit hot metal lights, you witty person you.

Thank you! I'm really glad you like it!

I'm so glad the longer cutting works (I generally tend to cut faster) - I think it's partially due to how much I like the use of color in the movie.

I was really happy when I found the shots to make the visual parallels between the aliens, Hi-Hatz, and the police work, and I'm glad the juxtaposition of the aliens and riot police worked (I was a little worried it might be too on the nose).

it's about how these kids are the bravest in the room, and their utter determination not only to survive, but to win the day, aliens today and police state tomorrow--

Exactly!

('thousand Fahrenheit hot metal lights' is kinda second reason I chose this song, after 'when they come to destroy the Earth, they'll have to go through you first')
