Lyrics
In the deepest ocean

The bottom of the sea

Your eyes

They turn me

Why should I stay here?

Why should I stay?

I'd be crazy not to follow

Follow where you lead

Your eyes

They turn me

Turn me on to phantoms

I follow to the edge of the earth

And fall off

Everybody leaves

If they get the chance

And this is my chance

I get eaten by the worms

Weird fishes

Get towed by the worms

Weird fishes

Oh, yay, you made a vid for this movie, mystery Festividder! Thank you!

I adore the buildup of the story here, the shifting dynamics among the three main characters as they meet and circle one another, the way the tone shifts in the middle when Franck and Michel finally consummate the attraction, and the impact of that first stabbing, wow, followed by Franck's increasingly fractured emotional state. I love how he returns to that moment again and again, trying to figure out what to do and what he wants. I got shivers when he's literally caught in the headlights at his car!

ETA: Also, LOL, I thought this would win a Festivids prize for Most Graphic Nudity but I see there's a vid for a porn series, so we're in good company this year. :D

Wow, that escalated quickly and went somewhere I wasn't expecting.

Great pacing and the ending editing really pays off the musical tension.

I appreciate this more each time I watch it. This go-round, I was struck by how you cut the treetops and clouds so you see the wind picking up as the drama does. And the distant view of Michel drowning his first (from Franck's POV, anyway) partner, which comes back to haunt/fascinate Franck even before the stabbing and then along with it. Nicely done.

ETA: And Henri! Aaah, I forgot to tell you that I'd forgotten what happened to him and it breaks my heart again every time in this vid. You really captured the film's mess of sex-death-fear-attraction, yay.

Oh wow. I just love how the images mix seamlessly with the music. I haven't seen the source but just watching this vid I feel an emotional connection to it. Wow, great vid!

Haha. I'm so glad you asked for this. I still haven't gotten around to watching the film, but I'm totally going to spring this vid on people at a late night Escapade party.

Marvelous! I get a real feeling for the repulsion and attraction in the film despite not having seen it.

This is so beautifully done! I love how you use the intercutting to set up the story and show the emotional conflict of the character which fit so well with the music. I loved how you showed the connection between Henri and Franck in the beginning and how easily Franck leaves him was so sad especially with how you show what later happens to him. The use of the imagery was so beautiful throughout and I particularly liked the moon shot zoomed in shot. I love the knife stabbing to the heightened "everybody leaves" and how you showed Franck's attraction at the end as it all comes back to haunt him. Really great work!
