Lyrics
Driving home I see those flooded fields

How can people not know what beauty this is?

I've taken it for granted my whole life

Since the day I was born

Clouds hang on the se curves like me

And I kneel to the wheel

Of the fox confessor on splendid heels

And he shames me from my seat

And on my guilty feet I follow him

In retreat

What purpose in these deeds?

Oh fox confessor please...

Who married me to these orphaned blues?

"It's not for you to know, but for you to weep and wonder

When the death of your civilization precedes you."

Will I ever see you again?

Will there be no one above me to put my faith in?

I flooded my sleeves as I drove home again

I haven't seen the movie and only know the bible version, but I I like how it's focused through the wife. I like the editing on the bit where Noah can't kill the babies after all.

I also liked how much this vid focused on the wife!! The movie only does that somewhat. Jennifer Connelly is gorgeous.

Thanks! I'm really glad you liked this. I have so many feelings about this movie- I've been working on an epic vid for the past two years and set that aside to see if I could quickly make something for the pinch hit.

Jennifer Connelly IS gorgeous, and she's absolutely fantastic in this role.

Also, I made another Noah vid during the anon period that I decided against posting as part of the exchange, but just posted now: http://seekingferret.dreamwidth.org/213711.html

Ooh this one is good too! The video you made for me was a lot more female focused, and this one seemed darker/angrier/more violent as it focused more on the male characters like Noah.

Thanks! I love the movie and highly recommend it, but in a lot of ways it has very little to do with the Bible story- Aronofsky pulls a lot of his story and worldbuilding from Jewish folk traditions surrounding the Bible story. As [personal profile] yinetime notes, the movie does not solely focus on Noah's wife Naamah or on her relationship with Noah, but it's definitely a major relationship in the movie and Jennifer Connelly is so great.

I've not seen the movie but I love how you tell the story from the point of view of someone questioning faith and seeing things from a different side than Noah. Very nice editing.

Thanks! I highly recommend the movie- it's definitely about questioning faith and wondering what God's plan is, which I think is a really fascinating approach to the Noah story. And as you can see from the vid, it's an utterly visually beautiful movie.

I saw that you made this really quickly as a pinch-hit too so really, REALLY well done :)
