Came back to watch this again, after watching the first three episodes of Luthor. I can see so many more layers here; knowing the context of some of the events gives it so much more depth and complexity. But actually, this new perspective makes me most impressed by how well it worked when I hadn't seen anything at all, and that, dear anon, is a huge tip of the hat to your skill. Much kudos.

OMG, creeeeeepy! I mean, awesome, but all I knew about Luther was that Idris Elba's in it, so I wasn't necessarily expecting-- nailing hands to tables and stuff? /o\!! And yet, this was mesmerising and weirdly beautiful in a grisly compelling kind of way. And Elba continues to be all kinds of gorgeous, even (especially?) when mindfucked with. *much kudos*

OMG yesss, creepy and weird and complex things happen so much on this show. It is not at all your typical procedural, though it has a case-solving structure, and Luther is. . . not your usual detective.

*rolls around in this feedback* Though this is also a really great description of what the show is when it's at its best; always creepy and kind of grisly and yet beautiful in the midst of that. And Idris Elba is basically the most beautiful person ever, and both mindfucks with other people and gets mindfucked himself, and it's pretty great. :)
