Date: 2014-01-26 11:38 pm (UTC)First of all: HOLY SHIT. Okay, I think I'm just going to list off some things:
1. SONG CHOICE: I liked that the vocals/lyrics were incidental. I'm a big lyrics-type person but this show is just so...COLORS. FEELINGS. You picked a song that not only tonally works very well for the Counts' POV (harsh, menacing, but strangely charismatic), but kept you from being constrained by words. This worked especially well because:
2. Clipping and Internal Motion: Hooooooly shit. It was like watching a *dance*. So nicely attuned to the movements of the song. Just when it seemed like you were settling into something maybe predictable-BAM. You changed it up. Really really cool, vidder.
3. THE WATCH: I loved this as a framing device. I love that there *was* a framing device, because I a huge nerd. Throughout the vid THERE IT WAS. And then Albert THREW IT. He THREW IT ON THE GROUND. Everything is broken but still so gorgeous but SO SO BROKEN. Yes.
There is so much going on in this and I know I haven't picked up on all of it but I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT in a vid. It's just so much to visually digest, but it's also so pleasing to just sit back and experience.
YAY! Thank you!

I had the absolute best time making this vid and it was so great to rewatch Gankutsuou - it's one of my all time favourite anime series and I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't watched it in quite a while!
This was also my first attempt at making an AMV so that was pretty exciting, I'm thinking I need to make another one at some point!
