i used to request this but gave up, so i feel like this also a bonus present for me. :) i love instrumentals and this is perfect perfect perfect for this source and i both forgot how beautiful this is AND HOW TRAGIC. watching all your highlighting of the effects of the poison is just fricking heartbreaking, oh my gosh
WOW that was amazing. I love the music choice -- it's so tense and delicately balanced, just like the movie, and you played it against the emotions of the original canon with such deftness. TOTALLY FABULOUS.
Thank you so much! I love Zoe Keating, and actually it was a vid from Skud that introduced me to her work. I was so lucky to find this piece and not have to cut down any of her longer works, which was an intimidating choice I was facing.
This is gorgeous! I mean, obv the movie itself, but the editing too -- I really like the, idk, escalation around a minute in, and the flow of movement throughout.
Thank you so much, and yes, this movie is just so amazing, I felt privileged to get to play with it. I felt like I could have easily vidded every frame. I'm so glad you liked it!
This is beautiful. I love your use of colors, the focus on the details of the places, objects, and fashion, and the way that you ratchet up tension throughout.
SO PRETTY. And I love how you've built tension over the course of the vid, especially those very centred shots of I am assuming the female lead (I thought I had seen this but apparently I haven't. I better fix that).
Thank you so much! And yes, GONG LI, so amazing, her staring into the camera over the course of the movie is riveting every time. Ah, it's so pretty. And there's so much blood. I'm so glad you liked it!
Really impressive control about how and when you introduced the undercurrents among the sumptuousness first, and then the violence and then the bloodshed.
Wow! So beautiful. I love how you've compressed/emphasized the way the grand public moments and the private choices coexisted and got tangled together.
I am nearly speechless. So beautifully controlled and executed, with so much power surging behind it... This is something I'll be watching many times over again.
Ahhh, thanks, I'm so glad you liked it! Ahh, you know I had some stress about making this vid, I was worried I wouldn't get it done, but I wound up spending much more time clipping it than vidding; once I had the clips together and the music it all came together. It was such a great movie to vid and I'm happy you enjoy watching the result.
Holy shit! I think colors just ate my brain. I like the super fast cutting. This felt very epic without letting me dwell on just a specific character or incident.
Thank you! So many colors, this movie was so vivid and I had so much fun putting it together. There are SO MANY incidents in the movie to dwell on and I wanted to just capture the sweep and majesty and corruption of all of it. I'm so glad you liked it!
I don't know the source, but I loved this vid. The tension builds so well and some of the editing, especially near and at the end of the vid, really knocked my socks off. Gorgeous.
Thanks so much! The source is just so beautiful I went into the vid a little intimidated, because I felt I could vid literally every frame of the movie. I'm so glad you liked it!
