OMG, mystery vidder, this is FABULOUS. From the instant I saw the song title I was clapping my hands over my mouth with glee. (Dire Straits. How perfect is that? Of course you chose Mark Knopfler.)

And I love every adorkable move and ridiculous face -- and I love your use of motion, both internal motion within the clips (him running down to the beach, squirming along the grass, dancing in his ridiculous flaily way) and the motion you added to what would otherwise be fairly static images; the whole vid dances.

Also, I cannot help suspecting that you managed to squeeze in every single clip of Danny Oldsen, because this vid makes it look like the film is all about him, which it is not -- but this vid tells his story in such a charming way!

I'm so, so happy you liked this - when I saw your request for a Danny-centric vid, I just knew I had to try and make something! It was too irresistible, all that wonderfully flaily physicality. (And SO much fun to vid, I had a great time.)

I'm glad the song choice makes you happy too - it struck me very suddenly after days of searching for a song, and then seemed incredibly obvious.

And, er, yes. This is not quite every clip, but there is certainly something from every scene he appears in. I am slightly concerned I may have misled some people who now think he is the protagonist and are going to be confused if they watch the film...

Back in the ‘80s I watched this movie so many times it has a special place in my heart, but I somehow I never connected that long ago movie with the Peter Capaldi of Malcolm Tucker and The Doctor. He’s so young and sweet in this.

I've never seen Local Hero, but you make it look so much fun in this vid that I'm clearly going to have to watch it! The upbeat music works great with all the awkward movements happening, and you captured some amazing facial expressions there.

In the interests of full disclosure, I should point out that Danny is not, in fact, the main character - the dark haired guy who appears in some of the clips is the actual protagonist. And the film is very...odd. But also charming and delightful and I love it. I hope you enjoy it if you do watch it!
