I really love that you've used the demo version for this vid. Besides being a bit more lyrically apt for Hamilton, it subverts the expectation I (and others) have; the album version is super-famous, and were it the version you chose, there would be a sense of "I know this story". But this is a delight from beginning to end - particularly Burr in "The Room Where It Happens" to "sit there and procrastinate", and utilizing the turntable bits for "spinning". Really, really well done.

This is just SO GOOD. I love that you've taken a song that's so perfect for Hamilton himself and showed how it fits so many of the other characters too, in different ways: Angelica, Eliza, the revolutionary bros, and of course Burr. (The shift from Burr standing on the sidelines at the first chorus to jumping from the table on "life's beginning / so come out from inside your skin"? I GOT CHILLS.) Also: Eliza is the moon and Angelica is the sun! YES!

And YES to what other people have said about the song choice -- not just the lyrics, but the music: the ominous chords, the driving beat. You've used those elements to marvelous, propulsive effect. Wow.

I'd never heard the demo version before, but it created an amazing tension between the unheard but known released version, with it's "one shot" refrain that matches so well with Hamilton's "my shot." Amazing use of musical negative space - what isn't heard becomes as important as what is. The lyrics also matched really well, especially the spinning dancers.
