At night they would go walkin'
'Til the breakin' of the day
The mornin' is for sleepin'
Through the dark streets they go searchin'
To see God in their own way
Save the nighttime for your weepin'
Your weepin'

Singin' la la la la la la la lay
And the night over London hey

So we rode down to the river
Where Victorian ghosts pray
For their curses to be broken
We'd go underneath the arches
Where the witches are, and they say
There are ghost towns in the ocean
The ocean

Singin' la la la la la la la lay
And the night over London lay

God is in the houses
And God is in my head
And all the cemeteries of London
I see God come in my garden
But I don't know what he said
For my heart it wasn't open
Not open

Singin' la la la la la la la lay
And the night over London lay
Singin' la la la la la la la lay
There's no light over London today

This is awesome. The way you've edited it is just perfect: the overwhelming frenzy in some parts and then the pulling back on small moments. Yes. Beautifully done.

Oh, lovely! I particularly like how you did the atmosphere and the structure, all the use of animals.

That was really wonderful. I loved the quiet bit in the end, and in the middle, where everything seems normal for a bit, and the association of the soldiers with the God in the lyrics.

28 Days Later is one of my all-time favorite movies, and this vid captured the essence of why. (Heck, even the summary did - I've never seen such a perfect one-sentence description before.) The Coldplay song was an inspired choice (and is, concidentally, also one of my favorite songs), since it balanced the harsh moments and made the sweet ones even more heartbreaking. Seriously, beautiful work all around.

Such tremendous control over movement! Great musicality, too, cutting to the unexpected choices and the weird moments where you hold your breath (the blood drop in the eye, fabulous). I love the stream-of-consciousness feel to this.

Thank you! This was one of those vids that was born from a song suiting the movie, so I'm glad you liked the match.

Thanks very much! Yeah, there were some moments I knew I wanted to line up with the song (the car in the tunnel when the music first picks up, Cillian Murphy leaning into the wind on the open road, Christopher Eccleston turning away on "my heart it wasn't open"), and then there were moments that fit so beautifully I just adjusted what went around them - the blood falling in Brendan Gleeson's eye was one of those. Really glad to hear the flow worked for you.

Thank you so much. As soon as I thought of pairing this gorgeous song with this movie, I hoped it would be my assignment or at least on someone's Dear Festividder list. So it was great to get to make it. It is really great to hear that you liked the vid when you liked the movie so much!

Thanks so much. Yeah, the soldiers here sort of took both points of view in the song - they're the (corrupt, harrowing) higher authority/power, but they're also the ones whose hearts aren't open. And the middle is the first part I laid down - those moments where everyone can take a breath, get to know one another, when we the viewers can see their faces and get a sense of who they are. Then back into the melée...

We actually had a local Festivids party last weekend, before the reveals. First time I'd tried that (other than a few Vividcon DVD group viewings). Definitely a fun experience to be repeated next round!

Oh, cool! That would be fun, to do it before the reveals and then speculate about who made the vids. I like that idea.
