Oh wow, this is really breathtaking. Fantastic editing, the minutes totally flew by watching this.

Wow this was gorgeous. I loved the beginning with the animals--it reminded me heavily of the book and it really set up the question of who is 'real' in this story so well. Wow, gorgeous work and there's so much to think about here!

GRATUITOUS UNICORN!

AHAHAHAHAHA! I don't know why people think this is a surprising choice of music: Both November Rain and Blade Runner are intensely cheesy but take themselves VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. :D :D :D

I love how a lot of this works on a completely serious level but then you've got things like the Voight-Kampff on "eyes", and I bust out laughing. Or the juxtaposition of dolls and Rachel or the two kisses, where on one level it gives me a little shiver seeing how gorgeous the movie is and how lovely your editing was and I think about the transience of life etc. ... and on another, I'm going OH, BLADE RUNNER, WHY? Why is there a DOVE, Blade Runner? Why is there GRATUITOUS UNICORN? Why is Roy Batty JESUS? Why is there origami with an ERECTION?

Wow, vidder, I think you hit all of my favorite Crowning Moments of Cheese (or at least WTF) in the movie.

I love where you've placed the owl taking off and the transition from Gaff throwing the gun to Deckard holding it. Gorgeous editing from start to finish!

oh, that was gorgeous. It's such a gloriously fucked up 'verse and I would never have imagined this music for it, but it works so, so well!

This was so great. Reminded me of everything that makes Blade Runner such a classic, the worldbuilding and the questions about reality and identity that are so well brought together with the unicorn and origami images. And I'm with [personal profile] franzeska on the song choice bringing out the seriousness-yet-cheesiness and general 80sness of it all, though I don't think of Blade Runner as a cheesy film in general!

Oh...oh dear. This is a really fantastic look at Blade Runner in all its complexity and somehow the song makes it work, and why did I forget how many scenes in that film have rain in them? Lovely.

Holy shit amazing. 2:36 onwards was seriously breathtaking and creepy and gorgeous and the end was perfect. I also really liked how you worked with the beats between 1:35 and 1:50. And, yes, perfect song choice.

Man, that was epic. I'm going to have to come back and re-watch a bunch of times, but I can tell you on the first pass that I love the juxtapositions you make -- the light glinting in various people's/beasties' eyes near the beginning, for instance. The film has such gorgeous lighting, and you've showcased it gorgeously.

This is GREAT! I love the combination of self-awareness of the TOTAL CHEESE and general fuckedupness (of both movie and song) and how, on some level, it's being played straight as well. Brilliant!

Edited to add more:
I think the thing that gets me about this vid is that you DON'T make a serious, beautifully edited, unironic video to November Rain. YOU JUST DON'T. And on some level this is exactly what this is: a beautifully edited paean to the movie set to NOVEMBER FUCKING RAIN. And then it's also a deconstruction of the movie's apocalyptic cheese factor and its massively fucked-up gender stuff set to the cheesiest song in the known universe. I'm just getting more impressed the more I think about it that you actually pulled this off.

Wow! This vid blows my mind. It is so smart about how it plays out these themes of life and its fragility--or do I mean its robustness (on a grander scale)?--and wonder. All the *creatures* (humans, replicants, animals, fantastical beasts) and *representations* of creatures (avian chess pieces, neon dragon, origami bird, MATCHSTICK MAN, toys) and all of this attention to body parts--*faces* and *eyes* (windows to the soul?) and *hands* (and snake scales), including in paintings and photographs and on screens and, and, and--all of it fodder for Deckard's investigations and the viewer's evaluation of what it is to be alive and to be...human? And perhaps to question whether that means anything...or everything? And in the end, unicorn and shining silver origami unicorn, tossing their heads as Deckard turns his wrist. Fantastical creatures and representation of same. Yes. And everybody needs somebody.

Thank you for this wonderful vid.

Love love love this! My favorite part in the entire movie is Rutger Hauer's "tears in rain" line, and "November Rain" is one of my favorite songs, and I can't believe I never thought of them together. And there's so much to think about here, so I'll have to rewatch it a bunch before I can fully articulate it all, but it's just beautiful!

when something begins with a unicorn running through the woods, you know it's going to be good. this is EPIC. TRANSCENDENT, even. two completely disparate elements of my adolescence have now merged into one beautiful, cracktastic masterpiece. i hope there will be a download link at some point because i want to save this forever!

Okay, so, I wasn't going to watch this because November Rain is NOVEMBER RAIN, you know! I was going to spare myself the eyeroll. But then I did and OMG HOW AWESOME IS THIS?! This was the perfect song choice for Blade Runner, it's kind of like Axl Rose and Ridley Scott are soulmates, or something.

You did a fabulous job and your vid looks incredible. The visual-music storyline works on a bunch of different levels, which is just fantastic. I love it when great vidders make me see and hear things a whole new way.

I think the most impressive thing about this vid was not just its handling of the cheese factor and the excellent editing, but the fact that somebody who had never heard of BLADE RUNNER would see it as a pretty bad-ass music video for "November Rain."
