Okay, so I have never even heard of this fandom, but I clicked on this because I love the song and I'm so very, very glad I did. You told a wonderful story with this -- the juxtaposition of violence with performed happiness, in particular, was gorgeous. Really well done!

I just. I cannot express how grateful and happy you have made me. You have made me, really, the perfect Capital Scandal vid: it's the one I have always wanted, but could never find. I was a bit surprised at first at the song choice — I love Tom McRae, but I never would have thought to make a CS vid to his music. (...in part because I associate him with Farscape vids, IDEK.) But you won me over after about five seconds and now I can't imagine this vid to any other song.

I love the contrast between the somber, stark opening and then the power shot of everyone stepping in and Woo Wan and his dangerous grin (I love his grin — seriously, Kang Ji Hwan, the hottest actor ever or the hottest actor ever?). And then you introduce everyone in the OT4 and just. <3 I love, too, how you focus on all of the different personalities and relationships — Song Joo and Yeo Kyeong are strong in different but equally important ways and more similar than you realize at first glance (and god, how I just hate the people who have hurt them), and Woo Wan and Soo Hyeon are just as tied together as Song Joo/Soo Hyeon or Yeo Kyeong/Woo Wan. And Song Joo & Woo Wan are soulmates forever! (She makes him grin!) And you give time to all of those interconnections and intricacies which is great — I mean, I LOVE the canon pairings, but you hold all of the relationships, not just the romantic ones, as being important and I love the vid all the more for that.

I also love how you weave Cha Song Joo's death throughout the vid (alksdfjlakdjf god I hate that she died. SHE IS SO GREAT WHY) — at first I was a bit aprehensive, how would you sustain that level of angst/importance throughout the vid? But like the song, I should have trusted you. When you keep coming back to that moment (and the motorcycle scene, oh god, adsklfjalkdjlakdjflksdj) and tie it back to Woo Wan's brother, her attempted suicide, the way that her body is a tool she uses and her skin a mask, how the good things in her life are like a dream ... and then you cut to Yeo Kyeong waking Woo Wan up with a gun, which in the vid is perfect because you are waking up from the good stuff to be confronted with violence (and twists even the funny parts in canon, to show how they are really just a mask for the darker stuff). And the connection between young!Song Joo trying to kill herself with Yeo Kyeong hanging there is so painful, but also spot on. (And, too, the connection between the perfect masks that Song Joo wears vs Yeo Kyeong looking awkward in modern dress — that's painful too, another way that you twist what is funny on the show to show what's darker underneath.) And the dancing vs the violence is so heartbreaking, they're dancing to forget, grabbing happy moments in between the bad ones. And then it all leads to her white dress stained in blood and Woo Wan and Soo Hyeon picking up the violence where she left off.

I also love that this is a vid where people are saying "I need to check out this canon now" because that's the other thing I have always wanted — to have more people watch the show. The fact that you have made a recruiter vid is basically the best thing ever, even if, on the other hand, I wish they weren't being spoiled for episode 15, at the same time. But the fact that people are seeing this and going "this looks really good, what is it?" makes me so happy.

Thank you so much for this. It's painful and perfect and I am terribly in love with it.

Incredibly compelling! I have not seen the source, but I was riveted.. I got really sucked in by the characters, the various 'Karaoke souls', and fascinated by their dancing with danger and seduction into violence. I loved the glimpses we got of more 'human' sides of their characters as well as the hard steely edge. The ending with the ashes and shooting was spinetinglingly tragic. I'm fascinated! Beautifully vidded!
