I don't watch The Mentalist, but I had some vague idea of the existence of the Red John plot arc from my flist, which made me curious about this vid. And, yes, you've made something disturbing and gentle and creepy and very beautiful here. I was completely captivated. Marvellous work.

Don't watch the show. I found this creepy great. It's quite neat how you explore their relationship without us ever getting a glimpse of Red John (unless he was someone in there and I didn't know it, heh), except for his signature smiley faces. Very cool & atmospheric.

There's only one shot where Red John is actually on the screen, and at that, he's wearing a mask. He's like this elusive evil spirit who haunts Patrick Jane relentlessly with bloody smiley faces. As you say, creepy great! :)
