Brilliant! I've never seen the movie, only read the book (which was a whole lot less exciting, despite it being an adventure-drama-romance ;-) ) but I loved this utterly. Kudos!

Has it been translated into English? If so, what's the translated title?

I don't know if there's been a published translation, but wiki says it's "The Testament of the Koppány Castle Agha" (1937) by István Fekete; maybe you can search for it by author, since he wrote several very popular (in Hungarian, at least, they're kind of epic) novels (as wiki also explains).
