Lyrics
Take my hand, my dear
We know that the time it is near
Be strong and be brave, my dear
Let me go now, let me go

How it came to this it's not clear
Long and lonely nights now I fear
Though I need your hand to hold, my dear
Let me go now, let me go
Let me go now, let me go

Take my hand, my dear
We were drifting year after year
When we tried our best to fly, my dear
Let me go now, let me go

How it came to this it's not clear
Long and lonely night now i fear
Be strong and be brave, my dear
Let me go now, let me go
Let me go now, let me go

Take my hand, my dear
Love takes us far away from here
Tell me once again so I hear
Let me go now, let me go
Let me go now, let me go

Oh, this is lovely! Melancholy but not depressing, to me, because of the way you focused on the positive memories at the end.

Oh, that was so beautiful. The slow melancholy of the music worked so well with the clips you chose.

…..well this just rose significantly higher up my 'films I really need to watch' list. This is so bittersweet and lovely.

This is honestly my favourite festivid this year. The song choice works with the tone of the video so well, and the editing is lovely - it's so sweet and bitter and lost and gracious all at once. "How it came to this, it's not clear," seems a particularly apt lyric for Charles.

The pace of the edits, the swing and sorrow of the music: it's lovely! it's got the immediacy and elegy of the vidded work and Waugh's canon.

This is wonderful! I'm in awe of how you've pulled out so many perfect moments from such a wealth of material. I loved this angle you took of saying goodbye, of asking for release, such a massive theme of the book that usually I would try to resist so strongly, but this gently asked me to do the opposite and it was really emotionally rewarding!

Oh, now, my heart's broken all over again, watching that. Really lovely.

I read BR at least once a year, after falling in love with Charles and Sebastian (and Cordelia) while watching this mini-series when it first came out.

Really just excellent.
