From the beginning
Small lifeforms
They can kill without warning
So you don't explode

Stump your growing limps and thinking
And you've lost them now you're blinking
And reminding her of him

Oh you steal his features
And your mother is a bleacher
She don't even feel the heat no
She don't even want to speak to you

But you, you always find another place to go
(Oh you) you always find another womb to grow

Well you can try to sink down deeply
And find the children lost at sea
Find the children who discretely
Be killed in infancy

To stop them holding you and screaming
That you'll lose your wildest dreaming
Still reminding me what I feel
How he left without reasons

But you, you always find another place to go
(Oh you) you always find another womb to grow

You can try to forget but I won't let you easy
You can try to forget but I won't let you easy
I'm flooding out and more I'm too washed out to see
Drifting away this time you'll regret you've conceived it
Clean up the dead you leave behind
Just like insects

Clean up the dead you leave behind

Brilliant. You've captured the soul of the book in a way the movie didn't: the hidden horror driving every act the characters make comes pounding to the surface. My heart aches for them. This is absolutely wonderful.

Oh, anon, I am so grateful to you for this gorgeous and hard vid you've made out of a movie that was probably a little too soft. It also makes me feel so much more continuity in the characters' lives than the movie did, oh my gosh, with Kathy's face in particular, the repeated violence and the same hurt all through her life, even though it doesn't get explicit until close to the end. You've done such a wonderful job with this. Thank you so much.

So gorgeous and moving! What a good song choice. I love the intercutting between different times, different emotions, the rises and falls, the little glimpses of expressions or hands or objects. It's all just this complicated mix of things lost and heartbreak and cold, hard anger that doesn't get a release. It made me feel for Kathy especially, the last one standing, the way the book did, basically, and it breaks my heart and also I love it.

Oh goodness, this is achingly lovely. I really love the way you weave their childhood in and out of their adult lives, to draw it all together, and also the way you flick back and forth between two scenes to draw out the parallels. And also the way it takes so long for us to see anyone's face in the vid. It's so brittle and sad.

Oh wow, this was so powerful. The way you interleaved the different stages of life and created so much depth and complexity of emotion, absolutely stunning.

Oh, wow, I feel so gutted! There's something about the compression yet, as someone else pointed out, the repetition of the lifetime of horror, that really focuses the emotion in this. So gorgeous and hard and well done!

Oh wow, this is stunning and so powerful - love the way you used the song to drive the rising horror. Brilliantly done.

I knew this might be heartbreaking to watch, and it was, I was choked up by the second half of the vid, but the interplay between lyrics and music and clip choice was of a wonderful quality, bringing out the depth of emotions involved in the triangle, the creativity versus the order and the connections between the various timeframes,
