Title of vid: Lær Meg å Kjenne
Vidder: ghost lingering
Recipient: Rhea314
Fandom: Secret of Roan Inish (Movie)
Music: "Lær Meg å Kjenne" by Sissel
Summary: Lær meg å kjenne dine veie / og gå dem trøstig skritt for skritt
Content notes: This might be difficult to watch if you have lost a child or are sensitive to such storylines; it is an aspect of both the film & the vid. It's not graphic, however, and the resolution is (hopefully) uplifting.
Length (signed): 3:34

Signed vid here [DW].

Both sites tell the story of a man who comes back to his village to find it burned to the ground. Instead of submitting to paralyzing grief he composes this song.

I love the repeated use of the clips of the selkie in the water. This is a truly lovely vid, haunting and beautiful.

This is beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes. I liked how you wove the legend of the selkie--of the loss experienced by those who love selkies--in with the other storyline of the lost child. And yes, I found the ending uplifting, that what the sea took away, it brought back.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the vid. The film does a wonderful job connecting different types of loss, while also trying to show that there is life after loss, so I'm glad that aspect of the film came across in the vid!
