Title of vid: Sunny Days
Recipient: onewingdippedinblood
Vidder: bironic
Fandom: Dark City (1998)
Music: Theme to "Sesame Street" by The Kids
Summary: Can anyone tell me how to get to Shell Beach?
Content notes: Physical triggers (e.g., epilepsy or migraine: strobe lights, bright lights, "stuttery" cuts between 2-3 stills), Syringes in heads+ dystopia+ physical and psychological manipulation+ major movie spoilers. For some reason the director decided lights needed to pulse and flicker in half the scenes. Quick cutting around 1:04-1:11.

Lyrics
Sunny day

Sweepin’ the clouds away

On my way

To where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get

How to get to Sesame Street

Come and play

Everything’s A-OK

Friendly neighbors there

That’s where we meet

Can you tell me how to get

How to get to Sesame Street

It’s a magic carpet ride

Every door will open wide

To happy people like you

Happy people like

What a beautiful

Sunny day

Sweepin’ the clouds away

On my way

To where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get

How to get to Sesame Street

How to get to Sesame Street

How to get to

I do like ironic vids, and this one makes the song become more sinister than I ever imagined it could be.

Lol! OMG! Such an inspired song choice. This is amazing. Absolutely love the irony. I was giggling throughout. The lyrical/clip matchups are perfect; I especially love the hat tip at about 42 seconds on friendly neighbors.

I love this so much. Thank you festividder.

LOVE this movie; kudos for choosing the most sinister song imaginable to portray this dystopian story!

Everything about this vid is perfect. The credits, the lyrical matches, the visual set up in the first clips, the song choice itself.

I love that film and did a double take when I saw the song, but this is such a perfect argument for how video and audio mutually affect one another. Great juxtaposition and great editing. Thank you!!!

Omigosh, this is terrific. What a choice of music! It sounds almost ominous somehow. Did you change the speed slightly? This is really good work. Well done.

This is so effective, the jolly children's voices running counter to the increasing frustration and the dark palate of what we're seeing. John in the maze comes through so clearly. Great ironic clip choices.

Rufus Sewell! He is great and has been in a lot of stuff. He's in The Man in the High Castle right now.
