Hello, I'm back. And I will probably be back again, because every time I watch this I notice new, lovely things about it. I love the sense of quiet yet determined hope in the face of desperation, in this vid. It permeates the film, and you've captured it absolutely with your editing and your clip choices. I love all the quiet little moments of connection, and personal courage you've chosen - how advocating for change can mean marching with a flag, or returning to the home that rejected you, or simply putting another staple in the wall. Or all of those.

I love that this isn't in chronological order - that instead you've chosen to focus on the characters and their own journeys individually, and give each one the focus on their story that they deserve.

I love the focus on words and the visibility of those words - there are so many shots of posters and pamphlets and placards, sometimes flying proudly and sometimes ripped down and forlorn. Individually these are all really important little shots, but all together they are very powerful. (I always struggle to put things that aren't just shots of people emoting in my vids, which is why I could never make something as softly brilliant as this - all the focus on the words is necessary and important and I'm not being very coherent here, but I'm trying to say that I love it <3)

This is such a wonderful comment – I've been holding it to my heart and taking it out to look at every now and then for the last two weeks! Thank you so much for seeing so much in the vid that I wanted to put there.

I adore all the shots of political slogans, posters, signs, headlines in the film – I tend to love seeing those in film/tv/vids anyway, but they're so central in Pride. I'm so glad you noticed them and liked the way I was using them!

This is gorgeous. What a terrific ensemble vid -- great song choice to highlight every character's individual struggle.

Even without having seen the source (#fail), this is incredibly moving. It's so quietly and delicately edited to capture little things that build up to enormous emotion. The "discretely gay" button make me want to bawl.

I knew this would make me cry before I even clicked on it, because 1. I cry at Pride every time I watch it ANYWAY and 2. I have spent a lot of time listening to the Manics. But you absolutely managed even more than that. You caught that place in my heart which the movie itself does - the exact boundary between despair and hope and love and fear, between aspirations and reality. This is wonderful. Thankyou.
